November 4 Russia is going to celebrate a national holyday – Day of National Unity. In Khabarovsk as in other Russian cities a traditional grand people’s manifestation will be held. Employees of large companies, students of the city’s educational establishments, as well as simple citizens will take part in the parade. The main slogan of the festivity is “Together we have power!”. During the Soviet period November 7 was celebrated as the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution, the date of the Soviet power establishment. However in 2005 it was cancelled by President Putin’s decree and revived as Day of National Unity, the date of Moscow’s liberation in 1612 from Polish invaders by Russian people’s volunteer troops.
