On Jul 01, 2009 the law of the Russian Federation “On state regulation and activities on gambling organization and conduct “comes into force, according to which all gambling establishments will be closed in all cities of Russia. All casinos shall be reopened or transferred to four special zones – in the Altai Krai and Primorsky Krai, in the Kaliningrad Oblast and at the border between the Rostov Oblast and the Krasnodar Krai. In the experts’ opinion it will takes not less than 3 years to create gambling zones in Russia.
