Igor Yesipovksyi, Governor of the Irkutsk Region announced that the authorities of the Irkutsk Region and Krasnoayrsk Territory together with the state corporation “Rostechnologii” created an air company “East-West Airlines”. A new air carrier will be engaged in passenger transportation in Siberia and the Far East, where the bankrupt “KrasAir” and “Dalavia” used to work.
“East-West Airlines” are registered in Irkutsk and will be based at the Irkutsk airport, but a part of the material-technical base will be in Krasnoyarsk. The size of the authorized capital and the share of its shareholders are not determined.
It is expected that the bulk of “East-West Airlines” park will consist of regional aircrafts Yak-42D and medium-range TU-204, five planes have been already purchased. Some aircrafts are planned to take in financial leasing. The first flights will be operated in May 2009.
We’d like to remind that this February the Federal Agency of Air Transportation (Rosaviation) cancelled a license of “KrasAir” to operate flights. One month earlier “Dalavia” also lost its license.
