By approval of the Khabarovsk Duma deputies at their special meeting, Vyacheslav Shport was empowered with duties of the Head of the Khabarovsk Territory, told Interfax Far East on May, 6. The Inauguration Ceremony was conducted in the second half of the same day in the Far Eastern Concert Hall.
Vyacheslav Shport was born on June 16, 1954. He is Doctor of Technical Sciences. Up to 1999 he was technical director of the aircraft manufacturing plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Since 1999 to 2007 V. Shport was a State Duma deputy and Deputy Chair of the Duma Committee of Industry, Construction and Scientific Technologies. He was also Chairman of the Expert Council on technical rearmament of machine building industries in the Russian Federation.
On March, 2009 V. Shport was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Khabarovsky Krai government and minister of economy, transport and communication.
The former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Victor Ishaev was appointed the Far East federal region plenipotentiary representative of President by the order of D. Medvedev on April 30,2009.
